Home sweet home

When the new building in Doorn was finished the first, most elderly, visitors experienced the hotel corridors as cold and unpleasant. It felt like a hospital or a retirement home. My solution was to add domestic scenes on wallpaper. Scenes with somewhat dated items associated with visits to grandparents. To increase the feeling of reality some parts are real and stick out.

The concept was quite simple. Realisation within budget was a lot more challenging. Eventually we built a mobile photo studio in a storage where purchased household effects were kept.

The result is a variety of domestic scenes. And pleased visitors.
